to stop feeling like they are running on empty, to handle a hard season without falling apart, and, for counselors, to serve clients better while earning credit they already need
About this course
You already know the drill. Stress builds, so you push it down, scroll your phone, raid the fridge, and hope it passes. It never quite does.
In this short course, counselor Ian Masson, LPC, director of Divine Mercy University’s IPS Center, offers a better way: stop treating your stress like an enemy and start treating it like a signal worth listening to. You will learn to tell ordinary pressure apart from a real problem, care for yourself as a whole person, and bring the weight you are carrying honestly to God.
Grounded in DMU’s Catholic understanding of the human person. Practical enough for a hard Monday. Deep enough to change how you carry the next hard season.

From the course syllabus
Everyone carries stress. Few of us handle it well. Most of us do the opposite of what helps: we push it down, numb it, and hope it passes. This short course, built around a Called to Flourish conversation with counselor Ian Masson, offers a better way. You will learn what stress actually is and how it differs from anxiety, how to tell ordinary pressure apart from a problem that needs attention, and a simple, whole-person method for responding, one that treats stress as a signal to listen to rather than an enemy to defeat. Grounded in Divine Mercy University’s Catholic Christian understanding of the person and enriched with both clinical scholarship and the spiritual tradition, the course is designed for counselors and for any thoughtful adult who wants to meet stress with more freedom and more faith.
