The next time a couple asks me about the wedding night, or about what is healthy in the marriage bed, I want to answer with warmth and confidence instead of freezing or blushing.
About this course
Almost every priest, spiritual director, and counselor who accompanies engaged and newly married couples eventually meets the question they were never trained to answer. The bride who is quietly terrified of the wedding night. The devout couple who prepared their souls for marriage and forgot they also have bodies. The husband and wife who keep measuring their intimacy against something they saw on a screen and coming away disappointed. The spouse who has started to feel that something in their marriage bed leaves them ashamed instead of loved.
This course sits in on a candid, warm conversation about exactly those moments. A clinical psychologist, two lay spiritual directors, and a priest talk through how a couple actually prepares for the wedding night and for the life of intimacy that follows — and they model how to answer with competence, tenderness, and Catholic clarity. You will come away steadier the next time one of these questions arrives, and clearer about the truth that holds the whole conversation together: that the emotional, the spiritual, and the physical belong to one person, and that intimacy is most beautiful when it is self-gift rather than self-taking.
