The next time a couple brings me a question about sex, infertility, abuse, or aging, I want to know what to say — and not freeze.

About this course

Every spiritual director and counselor who works with married people eventually hears the questions no seminar prepared them for. The bride who found the wedding night bewildering instead of beautiful. The couple quietly at war over how many children to have. The wife whose husband, decades in, "feels entitled" to intimacy her body can no longer bear. The spouse whose old wound resurfaces in the one place it was supposed to be safe.

This course sits in on a candid conversation about exactly those moments. A clinical psychologist, two lay spiritual directors, and a priest talk through the intimate questions couples actually bring — from the first year of marriage to old age — and model how to answer them with competence, tenderness, and Catholic clarity. You will come away steadier the next time one of these questions lands in your office, and clearer about the single idea that holds all of them together: sexuality as self-gift.

Common questions

Is this too sensitive / too explicit for me?
Frame with reverence up front (the Hebrews image, "held in honor"). State plainly that the course is clinical and pastoral, not prurient. This lowers perceived risk.
Will it really count for my license?
Be transparent: NBCC content area (HR), clock hours, and that the ACEP provider number appears on the certificate once confirmed. Ambiguity here kills conversions faster than price.
